SUPER SALE GUIDELINES

ADVERTISING

The club will be responsible for advertising in local papers and distributing directional signs.

WHO MAY SELL

The sale is open to the public. SLMOT provides all the advertising, reserves the location, and handles all
financial transactions and in return receives 10% of the proceeds from each item sold at the Super Sales.
Non-members interested in selling at one of our Super Sales must pre-register and pay a $5.00 fee.

SLMOT will issue checks to each seller representing 90% of the proceeds from each item sold by the
seller within 30 days of the sale. Each seller is asked to bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope on the
day of the sale.

WHAT MAY BE SOLD

Items that pertain to babies, children and pregnancy are the primary items to be sold. Examples: clothes,
toys, baby accessories, baby equipment and maternity items. If you have additional non-baby/child items
to sell, you may also do so. Items that are stained, broken, worn or in extremely poor condition should not
be sold. Please be sure that all toys and equipment are in working condition and that games and puzzles
contain all pieces. All items are sold at your own risk. SLMOT will make every effort to provide a safe
location and facility, however, SLMOT does not accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage.

All sellers must contact Kari Roberts (kari.roberts@slcgov.com) in advance to register to sell.

PREPARING ITEMS FOR SALE

Try to make your items as appealing as possible. Spending a little extra time getting your items ready will
make a HUGE difference on your check at the end of the sale. Starch, a little bleach, an iron, or a needle
and thread work wonders! Clean, neat, well packaged items will sell better. Button all buttons, snap all
snaps, tie all bows, zip all zippers. Remove all dirt and crayon marks from toys and furniture. Make sure
all parts are included, and place any small parts in zip-close bags then securely attach the bag to the
main part. Replace batteries and remove all used tubing from breast pumps. Pricing and packaging have
a lot to do with how well your items will sell.

ORGANIZING

These are only recommendations but will make it easier to sell your items.

CAR SEATS

Car seats must be no more than 5 years old, never been in an accident, and have not been
recalled (or they must have been updated with recall parts). The seller is responsible for ensuring their
car seat(s) have not been recalled by checking either the product manufacturer’s website, the Consumer
Product Safety Commission (www.cpsc.gov), www.carseatlawyer.com, or http://babyproducts.about.com/
to verify there have been no recalls.

TAGS

All items should be tagged with the provided tags. If other formats are used, it makes it difficult to do the
sorting and accounting in an efficient manner. The tags will have the Seller’s full name (first and last), the
price, description of item, and a listing of flaws (if any). You may use straight pins or safety pins to attach
tags to your clothing. Toys should have the tag attached with tape or pins. If an item is small and/or is in
many pieces, then the item should be placed in a bag with a tag. All other items should have the tag
attached by either tape or safety pins. For shoes, twist ties work well for attaching the tag, with a hole
punched in the corner. A gallon bag will hold small shoes, also.

Please make every effort to make sure your tags are legible. If the price appears to be altered, the item
will not be sold unless the change is legible AND has the seller’s initials.

Before attaching your tags, please double check that your full name is clearly printed on the front of the
tag. It is a good idea to include the brand name on a tag, if it is a popular one, such as Gymboree, GAP,
Little Tykes, etc. If your item is brand new, indicate that on the tag (e.g., “New!” or “Like New”).
